Subaru Impreza WRX Manual PowerMax Turbo Upgrade
Thank you for purchasing the XS Engineering PowerMax Turbo Upgrade for the 2002-06 Subaru Impreza WRX. Please take the time to read through and understand this manual fully before you proceed with the installation process.PowerMax Turbo Upgrade: XS21-0700 2002-06 Subaru WRX Installation Manual:Please follow the directions below carefully, making sure to perform each step in its listed order. We would like to stress to you that, when the directions call for you to remove or install any of your vehicle’s factory components, you must follow the instructions given in your factory service manual.
1. Remove the factory turbocharger assembly according to the instructions in the factory repair manual. Be careful when removing the factory turbocharger oil supply pipe. This will need to be reinstalled at a later step.
2. Install your new XS Engineering turbocharger as you would a stock turbocharger using your factory fasteners. Be sure to use the supplied Silicone Coolant Hose, Turbocharger Gaskets, and Crush Washers in place of your stock components. a. The oil inlet line bracket must be modified in order to accommodate the new turbocharger. Please remove it from the oil inlet line and rotate it 180 degrees clockwise so that it now lines up with the bolt hole on the compressor housing. The bracket
3. Heat shield(s) installation: a. If you are upgrading the turbocharger only and plan to use the stock downpipe and turbo pipe, you can reinstall both the main heat shield as well as the downpipe heat.
