After the car crashed and was deployed airbags, VW-Audi airbag sensor stays locked (control unit), defective or established and must be replaced. This tool will only connect to the VW-Audi OBD-II connector (for cars since 1996-2002). The red button is for airbags "crash data" to clear. Push this button once and wait.
