1971-1977 Mazda RX-2 RX-3 & Clymer manual boisot, maintenance

This chapter deals with the normal maintenance necessary to keep your Mazda running properly. It includes summaries of the service intervals and procedures in the form of a table. Table 1 covers cars 1971-73; Table 2 covers of 1974. The service schedule recommended that checks are made to easily list all gas station, and which are made of miles or time intervals. The last part of the chapter contains a procedure which simplifies and organizes tune-up for worry-free-up the process.


Routine checks
You must do all the following is gas stop.
1. check the engine oil level dipstick (Figure 1). Top up to f if necessary, by specifying it in the table 3.
2. check the cooling system. Full expansion tank radiator should be half full.
Note: cooling system level should be checked when the engine is cold. If this is not possible, put a radiator or expansion tank cap flap when removing to prevent burns.
3. check the level of the tank gives the windscreen. It should be kept.
4. apply a mark to help the fluid (if so equipped). The tank is located above the steering gear box (Figure 2). If desired, top with a mixture of ethylene glycol-based 90 percent anti-freeze and 10% water. Make sure the tank is drowning in fluid-inside. Note://tank and allowed to be empty, take the car dealer, fill, priming the pump.
